Welcome to the Janhit Sewa Foundation Old Age Home, a sanctuary for abandoned and destitute women in Vidya Vihar Colony, Talegaon, Dabhad, Pune. Our home provides a safe and nurturing environment where elders can live with dignity and respect during the final stages of their lives. Since our inception in 2019, we have offered free shelter to 90 elders, with 30 grannies currently calling our home their own.
Our Old Age Home is equipped with two bedrooms, a large hall, a hygienic kitchen, and three toilets, as well as an open space for recreation and daily prayers. Residents receive nutritious meals three times a day, along with clothes, blankets, toiletries, and other personal necessities. Regular medical checkups ensure their well-being, helping them maintain good health.
Most of our residents have escaped a life of poverty, hunger, and abandonment. Many are widows or have been left behind by their children or husbands, while others have escaped exploitation under the Basavani tradition. Unable to work and provide for themselves, they are vulnerable to neglect and abuse.
At the Janhit Sewa Foundation Old Age Home, we celebrate major festivals and encourage residents to participate in activities such as reading, regular walks, singing bhajans, and more. We strive to provide a healthy, productive, and participatory life for our elders, helping them find joy and community in their later years.
This charitable Old Age Home is fully funded by donations from individuals and corporate partners who share our vision of giving back to society. Your generous contributions can help ensure that elderly residents continue to receive nutritious meals, clothing, toiletries, and other essentials.
